Why Use Vinegar in Your Recipes?

Why Use Vinegar in Your Recipes?

There are a thousand reasons to brighten up your dishes with a splash of vinegar. Here are five:

It helps balance the flavors. Three parts oil, one part vinegar, and some herbs or spices to taste (mustard, oregano, etc.): you’ll have the perfect vinaigrette.

It makes boiled food better. Do you have some fish you’re planning to boil? A touch of vinegar will keep it firm and help it cook better. Works like a charm.

It’s great for marinades. If you’re bored of always eating fish or vegetables the same way, marinate them with a touch of vinegar, lime juice, olive oil and your favorite spices. They’ll have a whole new flow.

Pickling at home? Oh yeah! You’ve got this: preparing homemade pickled vegetables couldn’t be easier. All it takes is some quality vinegar and a little dedication. What are you waiting for?

It’s also for dessert. A dash of oil and vinegar in a fruit salad will make all the difference, as will a touch of Modena vinegar in cakes and pastries.
