Sweet and Spicy Baked Chicken Wings

Serves #STARFineFoods Ingredients: 1/2 cup reduce sodium soy sauce 3 Tbsp. hoisin sauce 2 Tbsp. sesame oil, divided 2 Tbsp. honey 2 Tbsp. minced garlic 1 inch piece of fresh ginger, grated 2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes, to taste 1 Tbsp. STAR Apple Cider Vinegar  2 1/2 pounds chicken wings 1 Tbsp. cornstarch Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. F

Place the chicken wings in a bowl.  Add salt, pepper, and 2 tsp. of sesame oil. Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 50-60 minutes, flipping half way through. (Depending on the size of the wings they make cook in less time.)

In a large pan over medium high heat add the soy sauce, ginger, garlic, hoisin sauce, honey, crushed red pepper, vinegar and the remaining sesame oil. Whisk until combined. Reduce heat to medium-low.

Whisk until combined. Reduce heat to medium-low. In a small bowl combine the cornstarch and broth. Whisk into the pan. Once it starts to thicken turn off the heat.

Add the cooked chicken wings to the pan. Stir until all the wings are coated in the sauce. If it is too thick, add a little bit of chicken broth until it becomes “saucier.” Sprinkles with sesame seeds.
