Shrimp & Grits with fresh corn and basil

Bring chicken stock to a boil. Add in ¼ cup Star agreena shortening. Add grits and stir constantly for 2-3 minutes to stir out any lumps.

Turn heat down and simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. Meanwhile, cut kernels from the corn on the cob.

In a medium sauce pan, add 1 Tbsp Star agreena shortening. Sautee corn 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and transfer corn to a bowl. Using the same pan, sauté shrimp and creole seasoning for 4 minutes. Remove from heat and finish with salt.

Before serving grits, fold in 1 Tbsp Star agreena shortening and heavy cream. Salt to taste. Fold in fresh corn.

Serve corn grits with sautéed shrimp and fresh basil.
