This sweet-and-sour chicken will become your go-to recipe both on weekends and weekdays. It's very easy to make and absolutely delicious!
Ingredients
500 g diced chicken breast
2 tablespoons STAR extra virgin olive oil
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
1 medium onion
100 g pineapple
For the sauce
3 tablespoons STAR white vinegar
3 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons sugar or honey
1 tablespoon soy sauce
100 ml water
1 teaspoon cornstarch dissolved in 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
1.
In a bowl, mix the STAR white vinegar, ketchup, sugar or honey, soy sauce, and water. Set this mixture aside for the sauce.
2.
Heat the STAR extra virgin olive oil over medium-high heat in a large frying pan or wok. Add the chicken and sauté for 5-6 minutes until golden brown on the outside and almost cooked through. Remove and set aside.
3.
In the same pan, add the diced onion and the julienned peppers. Sauté the vegetables for 3-4 minutes until they are slightly tender but still crunchy. Add the chicken back to the pan and then add in the diced pineapple. Pour in the sauce and mix well.
4.
Add the cornstarch slurry and cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats all the ingredients.
